What We Do at BlackGurl Inc.

BlackGurl Inc. provides curriculum based workshops and group support to African American girls 12-19. The workshops, seminars, and support groups provide young women opportunities for personal growth and self-awareness. We encourage and promote strong healthy self-regard, critical thinking, and positive peer support with the ultimate goal of empowering young women to change the world. Our service goals are to:

• Promote academic excellence
• Encourage and promote critical thinking and high self regard
• Discuss and explore feminism and its relevance in the lives of women in the 21st century.
• Foster unity and sisterhood
• Provide information about HIV/AIDS prevention
• Create a safe environment for young women to receive quality information and make better choices
